Pumpkin DeconstructionDesign 1
This deconstruction and reconstruction of a pumpkin embodies three previous studies that include transformation, unity, and dialogue. The transformation arises from the pumpkin being sliced horizontally and rearranged. The viewer is left only with a resemblance in material to the project’s original form. Unity is found in the ability of the pieces to remain connected. Finally, there is a dialog between the final placement of the top and bottom pieces, and the center slices of the pumpkin. The top and bottom pieces are on top of each other, like the original form of the pumpkin, but the center pieces have left their former bounds, twisting, turning, lifting, and eventually surrounding the cap that held them in place. |
